About this artwork
DIAVOLA was created in countless layers using mixed media, whereby the artist worked in soil and pigments and achieved a very nice feel and varied structures. She was inspired by the walls of the prehistoric cave of Lascaux. Bright red and brown tones predominate, set off with black passages and provided with complementary green accents. The title is associated with the taste of the pizza alla diavola, which symbolizes spiciness.
The side edges… show the development process. If desired, these can also be designed in one color.
The picture is not framed, but can be hung up immediately.
« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
