About this artwork
SAILING was created in layers and using acrylic technique on strong paper. The image section is 30cm x 40cm. The work was mounted in a black bevel cut passepartout and thus comes to a size of 50cm x 60cm.
In my work I capture the essence of sailing, interwoven with emotions of freedom and adventure. The semi-abstract composition in acrylic plays with light and shadow, suggesting movement, and the earthy tones evoke feelings of connection to nature.… This creation brings a vibrant, almost tangible energy to any home, a constant reminder of the limitless vastness of life.
« For me, representational and abstract paintings play a synonymous role. When I look at my work, I have to say, "That's it!" »
Barbara Schauß is an established German painter whose works have been exhibited in regional and national exhibitions. Her love for art began as a child when she discovered her father's books of world famous paintings. Inspired by the Impressionist movement, Schauß was greatly moved to paint after seeing Monet's "Fields in Spring" and famous lily pads. She also experiments in abstract painting, working in both oils and acrylics. Schauß is compelled by colors and aims to represent an overall atmosphere, whether harmonious or discordant, through her work.
