Bronze Mask, brushed finish created by Bartolomeo Gatto for the "Maschere" collection in the 80s. Multiple in bronze, few examples of this subject remain. The mask was also a moment in the pictorial art of Bartolomeo Gatto, who designed his stone masks in the Pietre Amanti cycle.
« The transition from painting to shaping material is natural. »
Experienced painter and sculptor based in Italy whose work has been exhibited nationally, in Switzerland, the United States and Germany.
Since 1958 Gatto has held about 200 solo exhibitions around the world. He has had a wide range of publications in general and specialized press.
Gatto has gone through different periods, influenced by different moments and places from which he took inspiration. His most famous series are Pietre Amanti, inspired by Sardinian granite rocks, but previously there was the cycle inspired by Cilento, the cycle of children, the spatial cycle, shapes & colors, the bricconcelle. Bartolomeo Gatto's works have been selected by large public and private collectors and sculptures and paintings are preserved in many public spaces in Italy.
In 2022 the Bartolomeo Gatto Foundation was born, which organizes the general archive and collective or personal exhibitions.
