About this artwork
This work is based on the unusual material slaked lime. I also used marble dust, coffee, and stains.
It is sensitive image material that must be transported carefully.
I see it every day and it gives me great joy.
After a 4-year study at the Free Academy of Painting in Düsseldorf, I started working as a freelance artist. Through the inner images I collect on my travels, I create my works with the choice of color and the interplay of light and shadow. My approach involves layering multiple layers on the canvas. I prefer to create my works using different rock flours and self-made paints. With my abstract style, I remove landscapes and structures from their context. I place a particular emphasis on the bird's-eye view. My paintings open up to further forms of artistic expression through the use of materials such as fabric, earth, and coffee. Layers of cardboard and paper of varying quality and texture flow into my work. My works visualize growth, decay, and change.
