During the millennium the artist executed this work, echoing the poem of Kasia (poet and visual artist) Excerpt: "
Wonder, stone lace,
Defensive ramparts,
Emerged rock, island of light,
Pyramid in our West…
Jewel set with its turrets,
His arrow vibrates in the wind,
It adorns itself with its streets,
The Archangel is at the rising sun.
In his present, which sparkles,
Does he remember the harsh times
Who made him a cruel prison?
Hugo… remembered it for a long time
Who lives, weavers of their sorrows,
Dark convicts, walled up from the waves,
And described the sound of chains
Interspersed with dark sobs
These times are no more, and the dawn
Gives him back faith in his days,
The bird alone still remembers it
Sometimes says it in his speeches...
And the tide that unfaithfully
Then comes back to him, in his momentum,
Is this goldsmith who chisels
Its marble on the white sand...................

Beatrice Van Ez-Le Perru is an award-winning French painter whose works have been extensively exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy and the United States. With a figurative style, she favors painting maritime scenes and is also inspired by 'silent lives' and landscapes. Trained in traditional techniques, Van Ez-Le Perru creates using pigments she blends in her studio.
