About this artwork
The Breton artist can only feel close to this illustrious Breton poet: Xavier Grall who was passionate about the Monts d'Arrée.
In a letter to Glenmor in 1976 he wrote:
"... How I love our mountains... It would have been up to me, I would have retired to this region where the soul of Brittany seems to have retired, where it hides in admirable hovels themselves hidden in the curve of the embankments, where the sewage is black, so to speak carnal,… strong and as if proud, where the embankments murmur secrets, and the ruins complaints under the ivy. A mixture of robustness and softness, and always these mountains as an obsession from elsewhere and from the great paradises. Stones, pebbles, slates, paths that go between the moors and the meadows towards the springs under the grass.
It was also the region of the bards. They were all wandering under the wandering, caressing clouds...."
