About this artwork
Acrylic on canvas. Started in the year 2019, finished in the year 2022.
Layer after layer, through different work sessions, it contributes to the final story of the work. I began to work on it very freely without any pretense and it was little by little the painting that took control of the situation. It is a very complete experience to start a painting from scratch and get carried away by the process. Spring Mood was created so that the observer… lets his eyes wander over the canvas without having to look at anything in particular, in the same way that one does when walking in nature, in this way the work is part of the observer and the observer part of the same work.

« I explore the essence of art and am intrigued by the "why" of works that last over time, as well as the why of those that fall into oblivion. »
Begoña Lafuente is a painter and illustrator based in the Netherlands whose works have been widely exhibited internationally, as well as in Spain. For her, art is a timeless conversation where not everything is said and "the essential is diluted." Lafuente describes her works as a game of combinations that combines materials, textures and colors, improvising new routes for the senses. In addition, she integrates movement and contrast in her compositions to cultivate visual and emotional tension.
