Esta obra empezó siendo muy diferente. Era una composición abstracta diseñada a partir de figuras geométricas. Me gusta dejar reposar la pintura y las ideas durante un tiempo para volver a retomarla más adelante con ojos nuevos. Fue evolucionando hacia algo más figurativo, y mucho más fresco en la ejecución . Una joven parece emerger de forma expontánea del fondo de la ciudad.
Le tengo mucho apego a mi "sirena urbana" porque lo… considero un diario personal en el que se ve reflejado un trocito de mi alma y otro poquito de mis pensamientos.

Begoña Lafuente is a painter and illustrator based in the Netherlands whose works have been widely exhibited internationally, as well as in Spain. For her, art is a timeless conversation where not everything is said and "the essential is diluted." Lafuente describes her works as a game of combinations that combines materials, textures and colors, improvising new routes for the senses. In addition, she integrates movement and contrast in her compositions to cultivate visual and emotional tension.
