In this painting, I focused on the quiet strength behind his leadership—the weight of holding a divided nation together. The setting reflects both dignity and isolation, while the soft light suggests hope emerging through uncertainty. Bekir Salim is a Turkish artist born in Erzurum in 1964. He began his artistic journey at an early age, growing up with painting, music, and poetry. After serving as an Infantry Lieutenant in the Turkish Army for 12 years, he retired to fully dedicate himself to art.
Salim has received multiple national awards in painting and poetry and has served as a judge in prestigious cultural events, including international music competitions.
He has created over 500 murals across Turkey, the United States, Europe, and Dubai. In 2014, he contributed to the Turkish Parliament with large-scale works, including a panoramic composition.
Currently, Salim is working on major artistic projects, including a portrait series of influential historical figures and a conceptual museum project focused on history, science, and culture.
