About this artwork
In my creation, I depicted a woman holding a book, surrounded by a collage of vibrant, textured backgrounds. This method of lithography and the use of intense pigments allow me to explore the power of stillness and reflection. The harmony between the blocks of color and the delicate outline of the figure forms a visual meditation. In this work, I aimed to capture a space of calm and introspection, inviting viewers to explore their own thoughts and… emotions. This image is sure to bring an evocative and inspiring energy to any home.
Benelisa Franco, an architect from Sao Paulo, uses traditional materials such as charcoal, pigments, and pastels. She prefers paper and canvas and remains true to classical modernism. Franco focuses on human figures, telling stories without faces and instead expressing emotions through outlines and postures. Her works, influenced by political and social events in Brazil, radiate a deep longing and the contrast between two worlds.
