About this artwork
Commissioned by Cirque du Soleil, imagined by One Night for One Drop in 2018. This piece was part of a charity show helping raise awareness for water shortage issues in third world countries.
A portion of proceeds for the prints of this piece go to the One Night for One Drop foundation as well as the model featured (Cirque Du Soleil Alumni Acrobat, Maria Sarach)
A deeper dive into the meaning behind the piece for the artist: This image is meant… to incapsulate the interconnectivity between human life and water, water is at the very core of our beings, it makes up more than 60% of our bodies. And in a beautiful poetic parallelism, the dancer, the acrobat, the contortionist, the athlete, must learn to move and be like the element that gives them life, in order to survive.
