About this artwork
In this image, I wanted to visually capture the lively atmosphere emanating from the Continental Club in Austin, Texas. This perspective highlights the dynamic energy and cultural significance of the venue, reflecting why it was such a beloved spot during my years in Austin.
Founded in 1955 by Otto Hofmann, the club quickly became a melting pot for rhythm and blues, jazz, and country, attracting legendary artists like Jimmie Vaughan and The Fabulous… Thunderbirds, Ray Charles, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Dr. John. Its intimate setting and exceptional acoustics played a pivotal role in establishing Austin's reputation as the "Live Music Capital of the World."
