Large format of 117 × 89 cm, this abstract canvas plays with depth and material.
A vast black field dominates the surface, almost velvety, crossed by streaks and textures that catch the light. On the right side, bursts of blue, green, and turquoise seem to emerge like luminous reminiscences, contrasting with the opacity of the background. The broad, sometimes rough brushstrokes mingle with drips and splashes that give an impression of contained… energy, of movement arrested in its brilliance.
A work that is both mysterious and intense, oscillating between darkness and bursts of clarity, inviting us to dive into its contrasts and let ourselves be captivated by its power.

Benoît Guérin's work is resolutely abstract, where colors and materials meet in an instinctive and spontaneous impulse. His creative process, marked by urgency, alternates between construction, erasure, and recommencement.

Working primarily with acrylics, he sometimes combines inks and walnut stain, blending the colors directly on the canvas. Painting on the floor, he physically immerses himself in the creative process, where each gesture—scraping, crushing, projecting—gives birth to vibrant and textured works.
Based in Vouillé, in the Deux-Sèvres region, he draws on the singular and irrational pleasure of painting: "Let yourself be carried away by your own feelings, as I let myself be guided by the material." Each canvas becomes a space of freedom, open to personal interpretations.
