About this artwork
This painting is inspired by the beautifully illustrated manuscripts the monks in the convents produced in the Middle Ages. The books they illustrated with hand painted pictures of flowers - persons or just beautiful arabesques.
Hand painted illustration of books can be found in the world of many religions .
in this painting a mixture of the christian and the muslim way of illustrating is combined - The plants - arabesques and the borders are inspired… from European, Persian and Turkish illustrations.
The "gold" in the arabesque is acrylic paint.
The painting has a small symbol on the front and is signed on the back.
The sides are painted, so no frame is needed.
