About this artwork
In this painting, I sought to depict the moment when life breathes.
This breath, both earthly and celestial, passes through all forms: the plant, the planet, the body, the universe.
The circle is a matrix, a space of unity.
The blue line is breath, wave, horizon.
The spheres float there like presences, linked by a common vibration.
And beneath this line of air, the umbellifer rises — messenger of rooted life.
Breath of Life speaks of the fragile… balance between gravity and lightness,
between matter and light, between life and that which passes through it.
It is a painting of a silent song of the inner world.
Bernadette Triki, an accomplished artist from Liège, explores painting, sculpture, and glassblowing, drawing on her artistic training from childhood. She combines a restrained yet powerful aesthetic, using oil paint applied with a palette knife, acrylics, and mixed media, while also experimenting with immersive installations and performances. Her art reveals a quest for light and essence, blending relational symbols with plays of transparency. She conveys profound emotion: love, inner beauty, harmony, and human connection, inviting joy and peace through a vibrant presence in the world.
