About this artwork
The sculpture was made in 2022 but this copy dates from late 2024. Number 5/8 has a magnificent nuanced blue plain.
The very light and harmonious form gives an impression of weightlessness and appeasement. It is the idea of clarity, of unlimited horizon that suggested the title to me.
The sculpture is fixed on a pyramidal base in brass with a black patina;
I signed it by hand. The foundry stamp, the number 5/8 and the date (24) are visible in… the photo. (engraved on the base)
Shipped in reinforced case with certificate of authenticity

« I am looking for a work that will surpass the previous ones while being able to suggest an array of emotions and stay alive despite the action of time. »
Bernard Métranve is an award-winning French sculptor who has exhibited in Belgium, Luxembourg and France. Métranve works are now abstract, but what links the different methods, techniques and themes explored throughout his artistic career is the search for harmony and the purity of lines. His bronze works begin with modelling the piece in clay, from which he then makes a wax impression that is sent to a foundry. Lastly, he controls the cast iron, carving and patina of the composition.
