About this artwork
In this painting, I captured the quiet power of a secluded lake using watercolor and India ink. The calm, gentle tones reflect the peaceful atmosphere I felt there. The realistic depiction invites you to imagine yourself in an oasis of tranquility – a place that brings serenity and clarity to your home.
I am a freelance artist and I live and work in Kehl am Rhein.
I intensively explore various artistic styles and primarily create small-format… works, no larger than 40x50 cm. My preferred medium is acrylic paint on stretched canvas.
I find my motivation in the floodplain forests of the Rhine Forest, in the Black Forest, but also on painting trips to Scotland, Andalusia, Tuscany, and Utah.

Bernd Stephanny is an artist who has learned the craft of drawing. He uses this background to constantly develop himself with mediums such as oil, pastel and watercolor. Through the traditional approaches of naturalism, he designs landscapes according to his own artistic tradition and creates characteristic traces and painting rhythms with generous brushstrokes. His works reflect his deep engagement with nature, in which they affirm that we artists must honor and depict it while it is still intact.
