About this artwork
This work arose from my fascination with the quiet moments of winter, in which nature reflects all its beauty. Using acrylic paints, I captured the cold clarity of the water and the warm surroundings of the tree scenes in such a way that they are recognizably realistic on the one hand, but also show a touch of abstraction on the other.
When composing an image, the placement of scenes that occur in nature, both through suggestion and through the… strict depiction of trees and bushes, is always important to me.
On the one hand, the mists symbolize transience and new beginnings in nature, something we become aware of with the changing seasons. On the other hand, they encourage reflection on what lies hidden behind the mist: nature.
