About this artwork
In creating this piece, I felt an overwhelming sense of connection and contrast between forms and emotions. The juxtaposition of the black and white horses against the stark white background symbolizes unity despite apparent differences. Each brushstroke passionately portrays the serene yet intense expressions of the horses, inviting contemplation on harmony and coexistence. This artwork will bring a balanced yet dynamic energy to any space, encouraging…
viewers to find beauty and peace in diversity.
Betty Khatchikian
Lebanon
Betty Khatchikian started her artistic journey at a very young age, translating her unique vision of the world onto canvases. Growing up, she immersed herself in the art of painting, exploring the world through brushes and colors. After a transformative five-year trip to China, where she engaged in deep soul-searching, Khatchikian returned to Beirut with a renewed focus on transforming her passion into a career. She refined her skills through online workshops with internationally renowned artists. As a self-taught Armenian artist, her work has evolved over time from classical realism to contemporary forms. Betty defies conventional labels, as her art is unified by a central exploration of psychological themes. Employing a diverse range of mediums, particularly oil paints and charcoal, she is known for her live portraits and figure studies, often seen on the shores of Lebanon with her easel, capturing the world around her.
