About this artwork
I print with beeswax and powdered, dry pigments on a hot aluminum plate on handmade Japanese paper. The work is called an encaustic monotype.
I melt the wax add pigments for color, make my marks and create an image. Then, I lay the paper face down and rub it with a Japanese burin. The wax bleeds into the fiber and transfers.
As Below so Above, adresses the urge for sustainability. Our beautiful planet earth is only as beautiful as we treat it and… us.
In creating this piece, I unleashed my love for the organic flow and the unpredictable nature of wax. It's an abstract dance, tinged with semi-abstract hints that suggest the rhythms found in nature and the unseen currents of energy that connect us all. The work pulses with life, with rich textures and a symphony of colors that evoke the deep emotions and the interconnectedness of everything. This artwork will infuse any space with a dynamic and contemplative presence, an invitation to ponder the beautiful complexity of existence.
