About this artwork
I print with beeswax and powdered, dry pigments on a hot aluminum plate on handmade Japanese paper. The work is called an encaustic monotype.
I melt the wax add pigments for color, make my marks and create an image. Then, I lay the paper face down and rub it with a Japanese burin. The wax bleeds into the fiber and transfers.
By the Wayside IV, adresses the beauty of the incospicuous.
In creating this piece, I unleashed my love for the organic flow… and the unpredictable nature of wax. It's an abstract dance, tinged with semi-abstract hints that suggest the rhythms found in nature and the unseen currents of energy that connect us all. The work pulses with life, with rich textures and a symphony of colors that evoke the deep emotions and the interconnectedness of everything. This artwork will infuse any space with a dynamic and contemplative presence, an invitation to ponder the beautiful complexity of existence.
