About this artwork
The painting conveys a rather restrained, yet profound and complex mood. The different textures and colors - from matte grays and beiges to dark blacks - make the work appear like an abstracted wall or a fragment of weathered wood. The vertical lines and textures create a clear, orderly structure, while the different surface… finishes simultaneously tell a story of wear and age.
