About this artwork
In painting this picture I suddenly became aware of the animal, and I stated then to highlight it in order to make it more visible. For me, this image has a rather shamanic quality about it.
Bjørnulf Dyrud, a Norwegian painter and printmaker, has a rich background incorporating stage arts, visual arts, and music. Embracing an abstract style, his works artistically blur the boundary between figurative and abstract art, often embedding elements of nature and landscapes in Tempera and oils. Dyrud's canvases emanate a stirring sense of joy from intuitive discovery, encapsulating an enchanting blend of nature, spirituality and the human presence in an abstract way. Dyrud is a member of LNM (The Association of Norwegian Painters) and NBK (Association of Norwegian Visual Artists)
