About this artwork
As a child, I traveled admiring the maps my grandfather, a surveyor, made. The contour lines and geology legends were my first encounters with landscapes and lines.
During my studies, I naturally took the path of architecture.
My participation in an agency in a motorway project, its route and engineering structures revived in me the poem "the tentacular city" by Emile Verhaeren, which addresses both the industrial and urban invasion of the countryside… and its inevitable disappearance.

My first encounter with the line and the landscape was with the maps of my surveyor grandfather. During my studies, I naturally took the path of architecture. I could have chosen as a tool of expression the brush or the pencil, I discovered in engraving a complex means of expression, reflecting the challenges of the implementation of a construction site. My practice of engraving constitutes a search for materials, gestures, rhythms and systems that give birth to unique prints (not multiple). Whether figurative or graphic, these representations are always anchored in reality, my interpretation sometimes tips the image towards abstraction. It is perhaps at this moment that architecture, the urban landscape gives way to poetry.
