About this artwork
These are hearts that beat, love and hate each other in an infinite dance. I cut out a sponge and dipped it in one color, then another, and another until I had a field of hearts.
Trained at the Beaux-Arts de Macon, painter and textile designer Blandine Laneyrie creates large canvases vibrant with color. Using an intuitive approach, her brushes first draw illegible words that then guide the composition of her paintings, telling stories without a pre-established plan. Her works, like a child's play, come from the unpredictable and seek to convey a feeling of total letting go and pure freedom, as if returning to the zero point of creativity, where everything is possible and nothing is overestimated.
