About this artwork
My Artist's Studio Series represents Jakob (the painter) documenting the end of Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism. Jakob is a manifestation of the Jakob in Genesis from the Old Testament, who wrestles God all night and won't let go until God gives him a blessing. The Artist's Studio Series also plays with color and structure, referencing the Fauves and color field works of the seventies. My plan is to use color to reward subsequent viewings in new…
