About this artwork
Whimsical” is inspired by the biological reaction of resistance and survival mechanisms against the high salt and intense sunlight, causing beta-carotene to protect themselves, turning the water pink. Nature is showing us that the resistance from a crisis political climate blooms into brightness and beauty. The color pink also has its own political history, representing queer & women’s rights.
