About this artwork
I did a trip to the edge of the ice floe in early summer with an Inuit companion and his dogs. The light was especially magical out on the sea ice for the entire time where it refracted off the watery ice crystals. It was disconcerting on a dog sled with several centimeters of water over the sea ice as the thaw deepened in the warmth of the late Spring sun. I kept imagining that we were in a boat off the coast of Bermuda surrounded only by a turquoise.…
sea. My rational mind was paralyzed with imagery that defied reason. A fleet of icebergs from Greenland constantly sailed by resembling medieval castles of blinding white. This was an otherworldly trip in every way resulting in a beautiful ice painting that feels warm and soft and welcoming while opening up the 5th chakra, the chakra of communication. The warmth resonating from the ice makes the piece very beautiful being so unexpected.
