About this artwork
“Oneness (#14)” is a mesmerizing abstract painting that draws viewers into a serene and contemplative space. The artwork is a symphony of colors, seamlessly transitioning from calming soft yellows and blues at the top, through vibrant oranges, to radiant reds and purples, and finally into deep blues at the bottom. This gradient flow of colors symbolizes the unity and interconnectedness of all elements, embodying the essence of oneness.
The painting’s… blurred effect suggests a dynamic movement or energy emanating from the core, where the brightest tones converge. This central glow can be interpreted as a representation of light, perhaps a sunrise or sunset, or as a metaphor for spiritual enlightenment and inner peace. The absence of distinct shapes allows each viewer to project their own meanings and emotions onto the canvas, making the experience both personal and universal.
Carla Sá Fernandes is an exciting Portuguese artist who has exhibited her work in India, Italy, Portugal and the US. Formerly a chemical engineer and sales and marketing executive, she quit her job full-time after the birth of her son to dedicate the free time that remained to painting. Her works are emotive and visceral, created spontaneously and with intimate passion.
