About this artwork
This work is based on how I believe those present at that shameful and cruel act might have seen it. The detail of the nailed hand, of his feet, always from a low and close perspective, observing the body of Jesus Christ, defiled by the perpetrators of that unstoppable crime, which had to be. "Whoever believes in me will have eternal life."

Carlos Pascual uses oil paint, acrylics, pencil, charcoal, India ink, watercolors, and traditional printmaking techniques, drawing on a solid academic background in Venezuela, where he studied at the Rafael Monasterios School of Art and earned a degree in civil engineering design. In Spain, he currently belongs to the Gipuzkoa Artistic Association, where he continues to refine his skills in traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques. He employs figurative, expressionist, and contemporary styles, combining technical rigor with the exploration of his own unique artistic language. His works aim to lead the viewer to a profound reflection on the human condition and emotions, conveying both beauty and existential questioning.
