About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the silent poetry of a shared moment, poised between dream and reality. The clean geometric forms and futuristic colors underscore the tension between intimacy and abstraction. Each minimalist line carries a profound emotion, inviting contemplation and reflection on the complexity of human relationships. This canvas will bring an atmosphere that is both soothing and stimulating to your home.
Born in Saigon to a French father and a Vietnamese mother, my name is Daniel Machefert. I grew up between two cultures that still nourish my artistic vision today. This dual heritage, both Asian and Western, shaped my sensibility, my relationship to color, and my way of observing the world from a very young age. My childhood in Vietnam remains deeply etched in my memory: the light, the lush vegetation, the faces, and the scenes of daily life continue to be a silent but constant source of inspiration.
At the age of nine, I left Vietnam to settle in Paris with my aunt and her husband, leaving my brothers and sisters behind. This early uprooting was a defining moment in my life. Torn between nostalgia for my roots and the discovery of a new world, I learned to navigate between two identities.
