About this artwork
A dense, multi-layered scene emerges in this work through the close interplay of several characters. At its center is an older female figure who, to me, acts as a calm, guiding force and possesses an almost prophetic presence.
A tension arises between a male figure on the left and a female figure on the right, which I hold together with a key-like element. I understand this detail as a connecting symbol between the figures.
The colors are intense… and high-contrast, with dominant pinks, reds, and darker tones that create a strong emotional impact. Lines and overlays structure the surface and make multiple layers visible simultaneously.
Carola Weber, a trained media designer and photographer, is now a dedicated painter and digital artist. Her work moves between drawing and painting and is characterized by a free, intuitive style that often incorporates watercolors and acrylic splashes on canvas. Weber's art explores hidden emotions, transitions, and the invisible behind the visible, beautifully evoking stories of fear, joy, closeness, and distance. She considers her works fragments of a larger story and invites the viewer to recognize themselves in these personal, painted narratives.
