Viareggio, the horizon flag is a tribute to the light and geometry that only a seaside resort like Viareggio can offer.
I painted this view from above to capture the almost abstract effect of the sky, the sea and the Promenade which look like a colorful flag.
In this work, the sky plays a central role: it is not a backdrop, but an emotional protagonist. The movements of the clouds contrast with the regular structure of the urban and seaside landscape,… creating a balance between control and visual freedom.
The work is made in oil on cotton canvas, with particular attention to chromatic contrasts, light and perspective.
It is designed to evoke memories, summer, silence, and happy nostalgia, a feeling anyone who has walked along the Tuscan coast can recognize.
