About this artwork
My artwork is inspired by the contrast between a love of nature and a love of the big city. Having grown up in a small village in southern Germany, I dreamed of the world's major cities, especially NYC, even as a little girl. This is how I found my artistic voice, which I express through a blend of urban street art and abstract expressionism, always paired with strong contrasts and neon.
This work, which explores the longing for spring's awakening… in the transition from winter, was created in this way. Here, neon accents were deliberately used as subtle harbingers of spring; the striking blossoms are still rather bare, blue, and cool, like winter itself. So far, one senses only small signs of blossoming and that expectant tension that hangs in the air.
Please note: the dark pink is neon pink (not displayed well by Singulart here)
