About this artwork
With this powerful combination of acrylic and screen printing, I wanted to depict the American approach to guns and gun laws. The injustice and the normalization with which this state deals with weapons – guns are sexy! The vibrant colors and the central, iconic moment with a scantily clad woman dancing as if on a pole. This work brings dynamism and a provocative freshness to any room – a real eye-catcher that inspires reflection.
Carsten Breuer, with roots in graphic design and extensive experience in the advertising industry, primarily uses acrylic paints on canvas and screen printing techniques for his vibrant, energetic works. His art combines the rebellious spirit of Pop Art with striking neon colors and a blend of precision and spontaneous, expressive gestures, often inspired by the digital age and expressive painting. He reinterprets iconic images, creates narrative layers, and questions cultural symbols with keen observation. His works pulsate with visual urgency and challenge the viewer both emotionally and intellectually.
