Earthling : Shadowland....One is a series of paintings created in the Spring and Summer of 2024. These paintings are the result of the artist’s exploration of what it means to inhabit the earth and to be truly present here. These images are the result of the artist’s view of the world and her connection to nature as space to meditate, commune with others on the most basic, primitive level….to belong…to be present and truly engaged…to truly achieve…
connection between humanness and the natural world. “I never felt I truly belonged anywhere…always an outsider….a visitor learning how to blend in with a new location. These paintings are an exploration of alienness and belonging. They are the result of exploration of self and understanding that my sense of alienness is not from not belonging but from belonging too much…being so deep into understanding my connection to nature that I feel like an alien to the rest of the world”
