About this artwork
In this work, I fused etching and spray to create a striking contrast between urban rigidity and the spontaneous impulse of emotions. I explore the urban immensity, represented by a solitary figure in the foreground, facing a city overflowing with light and life. The place is calm and serene, inviting the viewer to an introspective pause.

Catherine Zivi, trained in pottery and specialized in sculpture, also uses mixed techniques in painting and engraving for her paintings. She uses chamotte clay and pigments in natural tones to create soft sculptures: garden sculptures or interior sculptures. She combines drawing, painting, collage and engraving in her paintings, constantly incorporating new techniques. Through her favorite themes - people, feelings, cities and nature - she expresses a poetry necessary to appreciate nature and find serenity.
