A painting about the peculiar stillness of a moonlit night at sea — the world reduced to dark water, deep purple sky, and one luminous presence holding everything together. The ringed moon glows with an almost supernatural quality, its light just catching the surface of the water below. For anyone who has ever stood outside at night and felt the sky watching back.

I am a self-taught oil painter based in the UK, working in oil on canvas. I returned to painting after a long break and found my way back through light — specifically that charged, fleeting quality at the horizon when the sky does something unexpected and the world becomes briefly more itself than usual.
My paintings are not records of specific places. They are emotional responses to atmospheric moments — the colour of a sky ten minutes before a storm, the way a low moon turns water briefly unbearable, the strip of gold at the horizon just before the sun disappears.
I build light in layers, thin oil glazes that accumulate depth over time. I work with soft edges and a palette that prioritises emotional truth over literal accuracy. If the sky needs to be more purple, it is more purple.
