About this artwork
In some of my works, I also draw inspiration from astrological symbols to explore human personality. The crab, associated with the sign of Cancer, allows me to address a more intimate and emotional dimension of identity.
Unlike other animal figures that embody power or instinct, the crab represents sensitivity. Its hard shell hides a fragile interior. This duality particularly interests me because it reflects a profoundly human reality: we often… develop defenses to protect what is vulnerable within us.
The choice of vibrant colors transforms this figure. The crab is no longer merely a defensive or discreet symbol. The colors become the visible expression of emotions, inner states, and the variations of the soul. They suggest that sensitivity is not a weakness but a strength, a complex inner landscape.
The colorful crab thus becomes the portrait of an assumed sensitivity.
