About this artwork
The abstract work displays a multi-layered composition of flowing color fields. Cool blue, violet, and green form a deep, almost three-dimensional field, from the center of which a bright, yellowish-white glow emerges. Around this center of light, richly structured pigment formations condense, reminiscent of cosmic nebulae, currents, or energetic concentrations.
The surface is characterized by flowing, crystalline, and partially fractured textures,… created by spontaneous reactions of the colors. The painting process remains visible and becomes the central theme of the image: movement, expansion, and transformation. The result is an impression of continuous creation—between explosion and dissolution.
The work is in the tradition of Art Informel and lyrical abstraction, where color is not used to represent an object, but rather as a direct expression of mood, energy and space.

Christian Grzimek is a German painter with a background in craftsmanship who expresses himself intensively through abstract and conceptual painting. His technique is characterized by spontaneity, working on several paintings simultaneously, and the use of brushes, sponges, and everyday materials. His dark, horror-science fiction-inspired works, which allow for diverse interpretations, are particularly fascinating. His art invites the viewer to discover new thoughts and emotions for themselves—he loves it when everyone recognizes something of their own in his paintings.
