About this artwork
This work was born of intense energy, mixing anger and passion. With acrylics, I wanted to capture the inner turmoil, the violent contrasts between black, red, and white. Each brushstroke is a trajectory, an emotion in motion, ready to energize and electrify the space where it is located. It invites reflection, to feel the raw force of abstraction.
Christian Guay is a self-taught painter from Montreal whose training in civil engineering informs his approach to reliefs and textures. He works primarily in acrylic on canvas, using rollers and spatulas, drawing inspiration from contemporary art with Cubist touches to create textured and layered compositions. Through his abstract art, he invites an introspective experience, awakening in the viewer a palette of deep and unique emotions.
