About this artwork
Pain is constantly present in our world, in our lives; sometimes we just repress it more or less cleverly
and it is often very obvious to us - currently in the form of war and the associated death, destruction, visible consequences of the climate crisis, etc.
The question is how we deal with it: do we accept the pain and transform it into sadness and compassion, love
or do we suppress it by ignoring it, looking away, and being disinterested?
… The picture explores this question and tries to find an answer that is subjective to the viewer.

Christian Stötzner is an experienced artist based in Germany whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally.
