About this artwork
I feel a great sense of vitality when looking at the artwork. It feels like a transformation to me.
Darkness represents the past, no longer visible, but still perceptible... there was something there.
The soft, misty areas remind me of transience; something is still there somehow, but the new is already breaking through and overlaying the old process.
For me, red and orange represent new energy, the current impulsive, vibrant moment.
It's as… if light is brought into the darkness; it is no longer frightening or gloomy...
I chose a dark background for this artwork so that the red and orange would appear particularly bright.
The golden speckles and splashes give the picture a lightness for me, something playful and childlike.
The chalk lines look a bit cheeky, almost as if they're venturing a few steps into the future...
