In this work, I playfully explored the freedom of abstraction using acrylics and chalk. The vibrant blue tones radiate a cool freshness, while the delicate transitions create emotional depth. It is intended to bring both energy and tranquility into your space – like a flow of thoughts and feelings that inspires and prompts reflection. It depicts the Maldives from above.

Christine Marquardt is a painter and printmaker with roots in graphic communication design. Her works are created intuitively through the interplay of acrylic, charcoal, and pastel chalk.
In her abstract expressionist works, layers, traces, and splashes coalesce into vibrant compositions. Color becomes a vehicle for energy and emotion.
The "Water Worlds" series was born from travel – from encounters with the sea, with vastness, depth, and change. Fluid transitions, rhythmic structures, and transparent layers create images that speak of freedom.
In the "worlds of feeling," words emerge subtly. Fragments, thoughts, and small statements are inscribed in the works—visible yet hidden. They open a personal dialogue and offer space for individual interpretations. Personal messages can also be incorporated into custom commissions upon request.
