About this artwork
A mutation is a one-time and sometimes accidental change. Mutations most often occur during intense research work: we speak of spontaneous mutations.
Continuing her experimental approach, Christine uses inks mixed with resin on a fairly textured background. This allows her to obtain a sophisticated palette, and to vary the pictorial effects: several levels of opacity and transparency, more brilliant colors or more translucent, matte and textured… effects. '
Achieving a simple and essential composition is, for Christine, a fascinating work, she thinks, one of the most difficult things to achieve as an artist.

« My work resonates with the personal history of each viewer, like music. It is abstract art: I am a painter of emotions ... »
Christine Pacaud is an artist based in the Dominican Republic whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United Kingdom, France, and the United States. Describing her works as a dreamlike and emotional journey, she continuously searches for harmony between the external world and the "intimate self". Pacaud's abstractions are created using mixed media on metal or canvas.
