About this artwork
The wall object weighs 4 kg. The sculptural frame is made of hand-formed aluminum, which is coated with iron pigments in a special process and stimulated to rust. The protruding ribs and ridges are polished.
Several layers of oil paint, resin, waterproof ink, iron powder and copper powder on heavy canvas. Further oxidation of the iron and copper particles is stopped by multiple sealing. This means that the rough surface no… longer discolors.
"Imminent Darkness" is rather dark and mysterious by nature. Depending on the light, the landscape of the frame creates dramatic shadows on the painting and on the wall. The artwork is signed with the initials cR in the lower part of the frame and dated on the back.
