About this artwork
The handcrafted aluminum shell encloses a lightweight, stable support core. The textured aluminum shell has been coated with iron pigments and induced to rust. Further oxidation of the iron particles has been stopped by multiple sealing processes. The base is made of untreated aluminum and filled with concrete blocks. The interior of the upper section is untreated. The patina of the sculpture has been partially sanded away, allowing… the bare aluminum to shine through again. The natural oxidation layer ensures that the aluminum retains its shine.
"Imperatrix I" tolerates direct sunlight, which makes the polished aluminum surfaces shine even more brightly. You can place the piece indoors or outdoors, provided it's protected from rain. High humidity is not a problem. The work of art weighs 10 kg and is signed with the initials cR.

« My rather unconventional technique arises from the intention to let the change of the material to the work flow freely. »
The free use of one's own resources is the fundamental creative disposition in Robausch's work.
His techniques and use of materials are also peculiar.
Standing outside the traditional art world, Robausch goes and thinks in an open and unsupported way.
Sculptures, wall objects and relief-like panel paintings are created entirely from within the individual.
Robausch also likes to rework his own works from earlier times, deforming and retuning them.
The translation of the mood of his physical works into digital, animated works sometimes seems strangely alien.
Currently, his original, very material-oriented working method is unfolding again with the "Future Origin" series.
The unpredictable immediacy seems to shine through these enigmatic, relief-like panel paintings.
