About this artwork
An aluminum shell coated with the finest white pigments encloses a lightweight, sturdy supporting body. The white coating is partially polished to bare aluminum with the finest abrasive paper.
The sculpture's ridges and ribs appear grayish to shiny, like veins through the thin, light-colored pigmented skin. The surfaces are connected at the edges with a waterproof seam. The entire structure of the supporting… body, the aluminum shell, and connecting seams are hand-formed. This gives this monolith its unique, immediate character. Depending on the incidence of light, the unusual intersections—even within—the side surfaces create unusual shadows. The veining of the surfaces makes the "White Monolith" appear almost alive.
The freestanding sculpture rests on four precious metal elements. Its relatively light weight makes it easy to transport and relocate.

« My rather unconventional technique arises from the intention to let the change of the material to the work flow freely. »
The free use of one's own resources is the fundamental creative disposition in Robausch's work.
His techniques and use of materials are also peculiar.
Standing outside the traditional art world, Robausch goes and thinks in an open and unsupported way.
Sculptures, wall objects and relief-like panel paintings are created entirely from within the individual.
Robausch also likes to rework his own works from earlier times, deforming and retuning them.
The translation of the mood of his physical works into digital, animated works sometimes seems strangely alien.
Currently, his original, very material-oriented working method is unfolding again with the "Future Origin" series.
The unpredictable immediacy seems to shine through these enigmatic, relief-like panel paintings.
