About this artwork
This blue heron beauty was inspired by my walks on the Potomac River in Maryland and Virginia. Great Falls National Park is home to many bird species and it was here that I honed and developed my skills to use my eyes to search and my ears to hear the calls of these beautiful bird in the wild. I am also a photographer as well, so often times I do smaller studies outdoors and then take the detailed photographs of my birds back to my studio to work.
