About this artwork
“I climb up on stage and sit behind the drums, I look around and see the people under the stage waiting for the first song to start. I feel like an impostor, as always, and I ask myself, 'What the fuck am I doing here?' Then I tap my sticks four times and the show begins.
There's definitely a lot of me in this work, the conflict between feeling and not feeling like an artist. For this piece, I used a mixed media, extensively using decollage, colored… pencils, acrylics, and oil pastels.
